Sustainable action means taking ecological, economic and socio-cultural aspects into account on an equal footing in order to leave an intact environment and equal opportunities for future generations.
The 300 year old term from the forestry industry has been developed further and further by various committees and is now part of the German Sustainability Strategy. Protection goals have also been defined, which are to be pursued in the construction sector.
For the implementation of sustainability goals in planning, building, refurbishment and operation of buildings, various instruments and knowledge are required, which are particularly used in the planning process.
