Das vorliegende Umweltprofil beinhaltet die Aufwendungen für die Lebenszyklus-Stadien "Cradle to Gate". Es basiert hauptsächlich auf Literaturrecherchen und direkten Datenerhebungen der Industrie.
Der Cradle to gate-Datensatz beinhaltet die CO2-Aufnahme im Wald. Es muss zwingend immer ein entsprechendes End-of-Life-Szenario (Verbrennung, Verrottung, Deponie) für eine vollständige Ökobilanz ergänzt werden. Im Falle der Verbrennung ist der Datensatz "Spanplatte in MVA" zu verwenden. |

Holz verschiedener Sortierungen (vorwiegend Holzreste) werden maschinell zerspant. Die anschließende Trocknung der Holzspäne erfolgt mit Hilfe eines Trockenzylinders bis sie ihre Arbeitsfeuchte erreicht haben. Danach werden sie verklebt. In einer Mulde werden die verschiedenen Holzschnitzelfraktionen in Plattenform angehäuft. Infolge der Verpressung unter Einwirkung von Hitze und Druck entstehen die Primärplatten. Diese werden anwendungsspezifisch mit Schneidcutter und Sägemaschine bearbeitet. Die Primärbearbeitung der Platten wird mit einer Glättung beendet. Die Platten können je nach Verwendungszweck weiter bearbeitet werden. Sie werden gestapelt und abgedichtet mit PE-Folie. Produktionsrückstände (z.B. vom Glätten und Schneiden) werden wieder in den Produktionsprozess eingeschleust (auch zur Wärmeerzeugung). |
